Affinitás is Bryce MacNamee’s project focused on indigenous Hungarian varieties. If you are a dessert wine fan, you will recognize Furmint from Hungary’s Tokaji wines. Originating in the Tokaj wine region in Hungary’s North-East, Furmint is known for its acidity and susceptibility to botrytis. Unlike its dessert-wine cousin, this Furmint is fermented dry – a style that is slowly increasing in popularity and demonstrates Tokaj’s terroir. Stone fruit, white flowers, and green tree fruit notes dominate the wine’s bouquet and flavors. This is a fun wine for aficionados but also light and easy drinking. Enjoy with anything from fish to a creamy-sauced chicken dish.
