Crémant de Bourgogne is sparkling wine from Burgundy, made by the same method as Champagne. Albert Bichot’s Brut Réserve is truly delicious and representative of top-tier sparkling wines. It is notably fruit-driven with bright red apple and pear notes dominating the refreshingly acidic palate. Notes recalling wet chalk and brioche toast provide a supporting role to this Cremant’s traditional fruit profile. Albert Bichot ages this Brut Réserve for 18-20 months on the lees before disgorgement. At $30, and with this quality, I would buy this wine over a Champagne any day.
