The Symington family has been producing its line of Altano wines since 1999, and each vintage that I’ve tasted seems even better than the last, with this organic offering from 2018 being especially rewarding. This red, made from the Douro’s classic Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca grapes, dances elegantly across the palate. Fresh and satisfying, it offers compelling berry and spice flavors, balanced tannins and refreshing acidity.
