Of the many higher-end rosé wines that I tasted this year, this was my single favorite. Although its aromas and flavors are quite detailed, the complexity of the wine isn’t what makes it exceptionally impressive so much as the beautiful proportionality and harmoniousness of all the many notes it offers. Barely medium-bodied, it is quite refreshing, yet it offers much more aromatic and flavor interest than seems possible for a wine with such modest palate weight. This producer also makes a similarly-styled and equally impressive Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence Blanc, and both the rosé and the white are models of stylishness and subtlety while still proving satisfying.
