BelColle, Barolo (Piedmont, Italy) 2015

 Only now coming into its own, the 2015 Simposio shows mellowing tannins along with exceptional aromatics and impressive depth that only begins to reveal itself when the wall of tannin recedes.  The nose is floral, with hints of wood spice and dried cherries.  On the palate rich layers of red fruit and forest floor are starting to emerge.  The finish is long and impressive.
