This is an open and expressive style of wine with appealing notes from the moment it is opened. Candied and dried red fruits such as cranberry, strawberry, and cherry are ripe enough to seem almost sweet. These fruit notes are seasoned with baking spices, sandalwood, and cardamom aromas of oak aging. Tobacco and leather undertones contribute interest. Structure of silky tannins and moderate acidity balance the ripe fruit. This structure and development from age create a supple texture and smooth finish, which are the highlights of this wine. This is a crowd-pleaser.
