This block selection from The Birdsall family’s Kite’s Rest Vineyard showcases red fruit, particularly cherry, raspberry and rhubarb, with notes of dry earth, mushroom and Asian spice on both the nose and the palate, delivered over lively acidity and nicely integrated oak tones. The long finish adds touches of stems and sandalwood, rounding out a beautifully complex wine. A roasted portabello mushroom with baked chevre will make an intriguing pairing.
