Pizzorno is a family winery of Italian descent, which was founded in 1910. It is located in Uruguay in the region known as Canelón Chico (“little cinnamon”). The estate is currently run by the fourth generation of the Pizzorno family. Their Tannat, considered the signature variety of Uruguay, is a classic example, It is dark crimson in color and teeming with aromas of plum and blueberries with a touch of leather and cinnamon spice. The palate is ripe and full in feel while spicy, blackberry jam, and cassis flavors finish steady, with slightly rustic tannins. This is perfect for those who seek a bolder wine in the winter months.
