Brassfield Estate Winery, High Valley – Lake County (California) Pinot Noir 2022 ($23)

We don’t see many Pinot Noirs from northern California’s Lake County, but if this one is indicative of the region’s promise, then it is off to a good start. The wine is lean with some brandied cherry fruitiness as well as a little gaminess that occasionally delights in the variety. It is long on the palate with good structure.
