Cadretta offers another good example of the success of the Bordeaux grape varieties in Washington’s Columbia Valley. This Cab could also pass for a Bordeaux blend, with Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec contributing to the flavor profile of dark fruits and the firm structure. On the note it is still a bit closed, but shows enough cassis and cedar to indicate it is behaving like a young Bordeaux. It will only get better over the next four to seven years.
