The fruit for this wine replaced a section of Florence Vineyard that was planted to Merlot until it was t-budded over to Petite Sirah in 2007, so it is trellised and high yielding — unlike most Petite in California. This bottling is always very approachable, with classic varietal character delivered in a bright, jammy style without being sweet, and the 2017 continues in that tradition. Love it!
