Carol Shelton Wines, Mendocino County (California) Zinfandel 2017

  Aptly named, this wine is full of fun and flavor, with loads of primary fruit suggesting red and black berries with a nice brambly character.  Certainly ripe, but still fresh and focused thanks to ample acidity, this is a Zinfandel that can be enjoyed sip after sip, on its own or with moderately robust foods — preferably with some spice in the preparation.   A Double Gold Award winner at the 2020 Toast of the Coast International Wine Competition.
