The blend here (80% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon) is more-conventional than Carpineto’s Bianco blend, and the result has less complexity but nevertheless is a very enjoyable smooth shot of flavors. It has good presence on the palate and is well structured with dominant blueberry/blackberry flavors and mild tannins. Carpineto’s “Dogajolo” line has always been one I have respected for its continuity of quality – 30 years with the Rosso – the kinds of wines that you buy a case of at a time and use as the weekday house wine or for big party pours.
