Part of Pinot Noir’s charm lies in its ability to bring non-fruit aromas and flavors to life in a way that will have you talking about things that you might not normally smell or eat — damp or dry earth, talc, powder, etc. This wine will take you on just such a discussion tack with its perfumed aroma profile, where notes of fresh turned field and sandalwood join the bright red fruit and brown spice tones. It is deeper on the palate, and will require some cellar time to come together. Hold 5 years or decant for a good while if going in early.
