Those who like the character of oak-aged white wines should seek out the white Bordeaux wines of Pessac-Léognan. The 2022 Château La Louvière Blanc is a lovely example of oak-aged white Bordeaux from this appellation. The forward bouquet shows pure scents of grapefruit, apricot and lemongrass followed by waxy, floral, vanilla and baking spice tones. It is beautifully pure and layered on the palate, balancing the exotic fruit and citrus peel intensity with a lusciously creamy texture, spice notes and a crisp minerality at the finish. This is a classic white Bordeaux that can be enjoyed over the next 5 to 8 years.
