“Zee stinky, dirty Pinot Noir” (said with comic French accent) is what the nose is all about here, and it gives way to a palate of dark fruit, damp earth and brown spice. This wine has some weight to it, but it is not at all ponderous or clumsy, and it keeps solid Pinot Noir character through a long finish. It’s done in a big style and it’s done right.
