Although some of its vineyards are not technically located within the Barolo DOCG, due to a grandfather clause, the Comune di La Morra is permitted to grow Nebbiolo and bottle the wines under the appellation. This elegant Barolo features notes of ripe cherry, red berries, and plum, along with hints of dried rose petals, violet, and licorice. I enjoyed it with lamb jalfrezi, as it complemented the gamey flavors and spice profile.
