Corison Winery, Moon Mountain (Sonoma, California) Gewürztraminer “Corazón” 2024 ($50)

Hailing from a 60-year-old, dry-farmed vineyard at elevation, the 2024 “Corazón” Gewürztraminer marries the exuberance of Alsace with the precision that defines Cathy Corison’s winemaking — best known for her poised, age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignons. Named for the ancestral form of her family name, Corazón (“heart” in Spanish), the wine opens with a flourish of classic Gewürztraminer aromatics: rose petals, lemon zest, lychee, ripe white peaches, and a whisper of honeyed spice. On the palate, it is bone-dry yet generous, brisk in its acidity, and finely textured, all anchored by a firm mineral spine. The finish is lifted and long, mouthwatering to the last moment.
