This wine shows real Carneros minerality, with the crushed stone vibe holding the ripe strawberry and black cherry fruit in tension nicely. There’s a touch of heat showing, but it doesn’t intrude on the flavor profile and adds a little viscosity to the midpalate. The acid balance is well set, and it helps make for a long finish. It’s quite stylized, and it’s working beautifully.
