You can find any number of inexpensive Sauvignon Blancs out there, but few, I think, rival Dashwood’s. This is a classy, classic-styled New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, with suggestions of tropical fruit and melon in the aroma, and citrus (especially lime and grapefruit) on the palate. Hints of flinty minerality, most likely a contribution from Marlborough’s Wairau and Awaterre Valley’s unique soils, also add character to the wine.
