Not all fine red Burgundy is out of reach of the average wine drinker, particularly in France, where I was fortunate to taste this offering. A fairly recent release, it is made in an approachable style where forward red fruit, soft wood spice, and rocky mineral tones fold together well on the nose and in the mouth, with the mineral character becoming less aggressive with some air time in the glass. Drink now, pouring an hour or so before serving with a roast chicken or duck.
