Domaine de Montille owns just over 20 percent of Les Taillepieds, one of the finest vineyards in Volnay. So, it is not surprising that it is one of Domaine’s flagship wines. The stunning 2021 grabs you immediately with gorgeous aromatics that leap from the glass. My initial tasting note was simply, “wow.” Finesse-filled, it captures your attention with what I consider the magic of Burgundy, flavor without weight. A satiny texture allows immediate enjoyment, but its balance and poise — and my experience with their wines — tells me it will evolve beautifully.
