This is a terrific wine that will prove very pleasing to lovers of the “traditional” style of Gigondas on account of a pleasantly earthy, rustic edge while also pleasing modernists due to the fact that there’s plenty of pure fruit riding alongside the gamy streak. Ripe and robust in concentration, yet neither chunky nor over-blown, this is already delicious but sure to become even more complex with another couple of years in bottle.
