High-quality California Cabernet Sauvignon can be tannic and closed upon release, yet this one, first produced by Dry Creek Vineyard in 1997 from estate grapes, offers great verve and drinkability in its youth, yet has the stuffing to improve in the cellar. The wild berry and dark cherry flavors are crisp and mouthwatering, with ripe tannins kicking in on the finish. Hints of barrel vanillin and spice add interest to this impressive Sonoma County Cab, with 10% Petit Verdot.
