This wine appeals from the get-go with its rich golden hue and come-hither fragrance, but it is more than just another flashy California Chardonnay. That aroma, for example, is multifaceted, including beguiling notes of dried rosebuds and mint tea mingling with the expected spicy oak and citrusy components. On the palate the wine is likewise complex, with the citrus carried over to blend with pear, apple and other traditional Chardonnay flavors. Nicely balanced, it also offers a tasty and refreshing finish.
