Early Mountain, Virginia Quaker Run Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2021 ($85)

This wine offers lovely, dark-fruit aromas with black raspberry fruit and warm spicy notes with well-integrated tannins – texturally, a bit like the wine equivalent of a blackberry gateau. Sometimes you taste a wine and say, “They’ve got the hang of it, and they’ll do even better next time,” which is my sense based on this vintage.
