Like a growing number of foreign producers, Esporão serves as it own importer, an arrangement that allows the wine company more latitude in deciding which labels to bring into the country. This entry-level red is a blend six varieties, led by native grapes Tricandeira and Alicante Bouschet (50% each). The wine is tightly wound in structure with tart red berry flavors underpinned by some savory earthiness and dusty tannins. It is a tad short in length of taste.
