Minas means water spring and the Minas vineyard has five, which means there is plenty water for the organically certified vines. The grape vines are a field blend of traditional Douro varieties and the wine is traditionally processed. After harvest, the grapes are pressed by foot treading in lagars, shallow stone troughs, and fermented with Indigenous yeast and low sulfur. The wine is aged in new, tulip-shaped concrete vats and French oak barrels. The blackberry fruit is layered with balsamic notes beautifully integrated with savory acidity and fine, ripe tannins. Enjoy it with a lamb roast or grilled pork chops.
