Familia Deicas, Uruguay (South America) Albariño “Atlántico Sur” 2024 ($20)

This wine displays a solid core of stony minerality that upholds the mixed citrus and peach flavors. A blend of 80% fruit from clay/limestone soils, and about 20% decomposed granite soils. Moderate acidity makes for a round midpalate, but there’s enough acid to keep the finish fresh and long. Its technical acid numbers are different than what I usually see in Albariño from other regions, but you don’t need to concern yourself with that – the wine works beautifully.
