From a producer located south of Montevideo toward Canalones in Uruguay, this wine shows that the country is about more than Tannat. As you might expect, it is a completely different sort of Sauvignon Blanc. The nose leads with lanolin and tropical fruit notes, and that floral, almost pollen like character lingers. The palate adds Sorrento lemon and mild herb with some salinity lifting the fruit. If you’re looking for a wine that expresses sense of place, this fits the bill.
