Filipa Pato’s family has been producing wine in Beiras since the 18th century. Her grandfather, João, was the first to bottle wine in the Bairrada DOC after it was officially demarcated, and her father, Luis, is credited with revitalizing Bairrada into a dynamic and vibrant wine region. Filipa has continued this legacy, crafting extraordinary wines and forging her own legendary status. The “3B” is a tribute to the traditional sparkling wines of Bairrada, blending the indigenous Baga and Bical grapes — the three B’s that give the wine its name: Bairrada, Baga, and Bical. On the palate, fresh strawberry notes shine, complemented by subtle yeasty hints that linger even as the effervescence fades. This sparkling wine has zero dosage, resulting in a crisp, clean finish marked by minerality. While best enjoyed on the younger side, it will hold up for a few years.
