Smooth, almost creamy blackberry and black raspberry fruit but with a more-granular and chalky finish. It offers very good drinking now but, although it will certainly hold and be delightful for a long time, I’m not sure that it will improve that much with further aging. As the winery notes, 2022 was a difficult vintage with an “accelerated harvest” brought on by a September heat wave followed by rains, a vintage condition that Bordeaux used to often fret about, to pick before or after? At any rate, the result here turned out to be a very nice wine.
