The southern part of Napa Valley continues to prove its value for good-to-great Sauvignon Blanc production, and this one from Gamble adds to the body of evidence. It has piquant green-fruit aromas and flavors – very New Zealand South Island in character – with complex kiwi, apple skins and grapefruit tastes. Smooth, long on the palate, and with a fair amount of tannins, this is quite impressive.
