Mosel is known for their Rieslings but Pinot Noir production has risen in the last decade. Günther Steinmetz’ Pinot Noir has the same slate-driven minerality that makes their Rieslings popular and is the absolute highlight of this wine. Light in body, this Pinot Noir’s pomegranate and strawberry notes also shine while providing classic tart fruit. I am excited to find more Mosel Pinot Noir wines coming into the U.S. market – keep them coming!
