After making wines at Domaine Serene and Shea Wine Cellars, Drew Voit launched his own brand and also operates a busy custom crush facility in McMinnville. For his label, he produces several single vineyard Pinot Noirs and this barrel fermented Pinot Blanc. Still popular in Alsace, Pinot Blanc has fallen out of view on the West Coast. But Voit has stuck with it for several vintages and this 2021 is a solid version capturing the varietal’s best attributes. Barrel fermented and lees aged in neutral oak, it displays attractive green apple and lemon zest aromas. On the palate, it offers bright fruit flavors and the body is nicely textured with a slight leesy element. Not a Chardonnay wannabe, it is well balanced and finishes with a touch of citrus and cleansing acidity.
