Wine label

Mathew Hatcher focusing on a wide range of red wines grown in the Sierra Foothills. Most are grown at the family’s high elevation vineyards in Angels Camp and Vallecito, but for Dolcetto (which is rarely seen in California) Hatcher works with the Clondaire Vineyard in Calaveras County. While dark in color, his Dolcetto displays distinctive strawberry, raspberry aroma and is round and rich on the palate. Bright and full of fresh berry flavors, it is soft in the mid-palate and then shows some tannin in the finish. The tannins are gentle enough and add a little complexity to this unusual but enjoyable red. Drink now.
