Portugal, home to its iconic fortified wine, Port, is rapidly making a name for itself as a source of excellent table wines, both white and red, at bargain prices. Take this one. Paradoxically both floral and spicy, it’s lively, not heavy. It has depth without being weighty or overbearing. Its vigorous nature cuts right through summer’s heat and humidity. It’s hard to beat the high quality/price ratio.
