Hubert Brochard, Sancerre (Loire Valley, France) “Château de Fontaine-Audon” 2023 ($45, Vintus)

Sort of a cross between the Thauveny and the Trois Coteaux in the 2023 triad of Sancerre releases from Hubert Brochard, this has a somewhat lean structure with most of the flavors coming in a very pleasant finish that is spicy and grapey. As such, it may not be as charming as its siblings, but is perhaps more versatile at the table.
