This bottling virtually sings Syrah character at you from start to finish. Its blend of black and blue berry fruit, pepper and orange zest say textbook, but the overall presentation reads more like a spy thriller that you can’t put down. Monterey is an overlooked region for Syrah, but more wines like this one will make it an easy sell. A Platinum Award winner at the 2020 Critics Challenge International Wine & Spirits Competition.
