This is Pinot Noir for fans of the oak driven style. Bright oak spice and dry earth carry the day, with notes of strawberry, tea and tobacco nicely integrated and maintaining complexity through the long finish. I would love to taste this in a few years as the oak recedes a bit. I’m thinking of a salad with pungent mushrooms and seared tuna as a suitable pairing.
