Petite Sirah, known as Durif in France, has virtually disappeared from that country but thrives in California and the Valle de Guadalupe in Baja Mexico. This is an excellent value for under $15. The Cetto family originally comes from northern Italy but has been making wine in Mexico for several generations now. This robust, indulgent wine offers a tidal wave of black and red fruits that merge with cedar and spice. Generous and ripe yet with excellent structure and length, it has a long, mineral and baking spice-flecked finish.
