My second taste of this producer has me wondering why I’ve been unaware of them until now. This begins with a nose of apple, brioche, citrus and wet stone. A faint dash of sugar really brightens this on the palate, giving lift to the apple fruit and extending the finish. Bracing acidity makes for a crisp, clean palate that doesn’t wipe away the flavors promised in the aroma profile. It is quite complete, and a real pleasure to drink. More Zweigelt please! In general, of course – this has just the right amount. Contains 38% Zweigelt, 22% Pinot Noir, 12% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Gris, 10% Pinot Blanc and 3% St. Laurent.
