This took some time to open in the glass, and that’s to be expected from a young wine of this pedigree. It shows the lighter side of Gap’s Crown, with a red fruit and spice focus that adds hints of cola, wintergreen and oak char. It’s still folding together, so rest it in the cellar for a few years before diving in and serving with fish or a game bird. I continue to be impressed with this label’s Pinot Noir offerings.
