With “Rebellious”, the other side of the spectrum gets a nod in the Macchia Petite Sirah lineup. This is the beast, by contrast to the “Dubious” bottling, with full throttle extraction restrained by a great picking decision, keeping the heat away and letting the plush black and blue fruit sing. Not at all porty, but I’d go directly to the cheese plate anyway – medium to strong, please. A Platinum Award winner at the 2020 Monterey International Wine Competition.
