Overt, jammy fruit sweetness recalling ripe berries is the first impression this wine delivers. Oak and vanilla seasoning quickly follow as the wine slides softly across the palate. Pair this Pinot with something that has a slight sweet edge — barbecue for example. In hot weather I recommend chilling the wine very slightly before serving. A shout-out to Meiomi for the nice screwcap (from Guala Closures) that looks elegant and seamless and is very easy to open.
