I am not a fan of this style of Zinfandel, but it’s got a serious following, and I understand the reasons. This wine shows oodles of oak smoke and spice, giving it a smoked meat character that rides on top of the jammy blackberry fruit. Everything is done well and the desired style is achieved, so if you are a fan, this is a great example of the type. I’d try a pairing with bold cheeses and charcuterie.
