This vintage from the venerable Bien Nacido Vineyard delivered excellent ripeness, with layered dark fruits, notes of raspberry and strawberry, and an earthy nose that shows hints of cola and wet leaves. On the palate the wine is suave and mouth-filling, with notes of wood spice and tobacco. The supple tannins bode well for near-term consumption.
