As I have written before, Miguel Torres is one of Chile’s great proponents for using the almost-native Pais (also known as Mission) grapes, while other producers would just as soon forget what they consider to be a bit of a bland variety. Perhaps the price of the wine reflects this evaluation. That said, it is certainly an acceptable bottle-fermented sparkling wine with a good stream of bubbles, light strawberry flavors, some minerality and pleasant finish acidity.
