Always a fine bottle, this release is dressed in red for the holidays and tagged “Limited Edition” in celebratory style. An equal three-way blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, it delivers fine-tuned apple, strawberry and soft toasty notes and a zesty finish that gives the fruit a push without taking over. It’s showing a step better than I remember from my last taste of this important sparkler, and I’m guessing that’s due to tasting this bottle at the source while tasting in Champagne. Fresh!
