Pinot Gris is a mutation of Pinot Noir, with grapes ranging in color from pinkish-gray to orangey pink. Oyster Bays’ enticingly fragrant Pinot Gris offers overtones of citrus, apple and pear. In general, New Zealand Pinot Gris tends to be somewhat richer and more deeply flavored than Italy’s Pinot Grigio while still keeping the grape’s traditionally delicate appeal. Oyster Bay’s version has a sublimely refreshing character, with no oaky distraction or alcoholic overload.
